Sometimes the heart feels like a deep scary cave of longing. Y'know?

My high school boyfriend gave me the fossilized shark teeth. The title of this piece comes from something he used to say: "It was dark. There were teeth. That's all I remember." I crocheted the heart-shaped doily. Can't remember if I used dark red thread, or if I soaked the finished doily in paint.

The photo above was made in my studio at the Tip Top with a Canon DSLR and some sort of LensBaby lens that you probably can't get anymore.
